Platforms Web

Role Principal Product Designer, working closely with business stakeholders, developers and PMs.

Context & Problem

Dell’s Services team was using SharePoint to manage their internal communications website, but due to cost and usability constraints, the organization decided to sunset it. The team needed a custom, scalable platform that allowed everyday team members to consume content and admins to build and manage pages. The new solution also had to conform to branding constraints and a fixed navigation model using the LIVE acronym (Learn, Inspire, Visualize, Engage).

My Role

As Principal UX Designer within the Mobility team (focused on internal tools), I owned the UX strategy, stakeholder alignment, wireframing, interaction design, and feasibility check-ins with developers. I was embedded from concept to prototype handoff, navigating multiple business verticals and ensuring MVP feasibility.

Impact

The platform launched in phased manner on time and was adopted by 20% of the Services team within the first 2 months.

In the beta phase, I worked closely with the Admins to optimize the workflow and the designs to ensure coverage of the top features that were required. Upon release, they reported an approx. 40% reduction in time spent creating or editing pages.

Stakeholder feedback highlighted the clarity of navigation and overall simplicity.
